It was you~ Levi x Reader pt 3

I was requested by Commander Erwin to join Levi's group.

I was puzzled. Why would Erwin give such strange order? I wasn't part of Levi's team  nor was there anything I could do for them, I was useless to levi and yet....
I didn't ask questions for I was still a little shaken up from the previous incident. Shuddering at the memory I try my best to block it out. Then I remember what Erwin told me two days before the mission.

The evening sky was painted with a bright orange and a fuchsia pink that stretch across a never ending canvas. I had become tired of my being weak and had forced myself to train until my body screamed for relief. I began to first excel in using my 3d maneuver gear. Weaving threw trees, around buildings; I would even go back to the training ground where the 104th including myself used are gear in fighting the props which was made to look like a titan. Other days I would build up my stamina running threw and around obstacles I specifically created for myself. But most of the time like today I would screw up again. At the traning grounds I snuck in for my routine lessons, knowing I would miss dinner. Flinging myself around in search of the fake titans, I back flipped in mid air shooting out my hook to reach out to penetrate a near by object, only for it miss by a inch causing me to free fall.

With a yelp at the last second I pull my gears trigger in attemp to save myself. Closing my eyes I wait for impact and when it didn't come I slowly let open an eye. Hanging upside down my (h/l) (h/c) dangling in my face. Brushing it aside I realized as I tried to save myself, my hook grabbed onto the tree above me. Sighing with relief as well as frustration I hung their for a few minutes. Releasing the hook I fell landing flat on my back. I rolled over and sat against the tree for suport with my legs drawn up resting my forearms on my knees. The sound of crunching leaves brought my attention to a rather tall figure. Erwin stood before looking quite serious. Quickly standing I gave a proper salute flinching the slightest at the sharp pain in my back. "That was a hard fall you took I presume?" Arching a brow at my sudden movement. "Yes sir, but I'm alright now it's going away" nodding at my answer erwin's eyes narrowed at my small forum making squirm a bit then he bluntly said "you know your not weak" taken back I thought I heard him wrong "s-sir?" 

"You have determination, you go for what you desire most...and never give up. I can see it not only in your eyes but your bruised body say it also too" self consciously I hid my scraped hands behind my back. "Sir I- .... thank you"

Eren reached out to wanting to comfort me. Riding on my horse my head was bent, my (h/l) (h/c) hair shading my eyes looking at nothing as I fight with my cowardly self. I may not look it though I always criticize myself, beating myself down for how weak I am. It has never done me good in the end; surprise by a unexpected touch a gentle hand grasps mine and gives it a firm squeeze. I give a little jump then I lay my eyes on the hand, following it up the arm all the way to its owner.Worried green eyes stare into my (e/c) ones; at that moment I felt tears pooling in my eyes and I so desperately wanted to cry but I stopped myself. 'No not now, I can't cry till this mission is done' a deep breath escaped my lips as I smiled a small one and squeezed eren's hand back.  

After hearing reports of a female titan entering the formation in the direction  arimn and jean were my worry grew as my eyes never left the sky looking for a trace of smoke, whatever color it maybe so I know at least one or both are alright. More titans followed after that and more of people's lives were sacrificed. As we neared a forest the center of the formation entered leaving the left and right flanks to skirt around the trees. Pushing threw endless trees I began to worry... what's going on? Why are we here? We could have easily avoided being separated from the others... did Commander Erwin plan this? but it was eren who spoke worry laced his voice "C-captain Levi were in the middle of the wood!  If the center just enters alone we won't know if titans are approaching! Something is nearing us from the right... how are we supposed to protect the carts and dodge titan?" Not giving eren a glance levi spoke in a boredom tone "don't go on about the obvious, we can't do that anymore of course. Look around you, all these big ass trees. Perfect for 3d maneuver gear...use that stupid tiny brain of yours..." the silence stretch on a couple of miles. If what levi says is true then does he know what's going on? I look petra and was shocked at the expression on her face. Looking at everyone's face both eren and I were surprised that  no one knew what's happening. 

A shot of black smoke burst threw the air.

Huh? That's right behind us! Could this be... the ground shook violently as birds flew in different. Levi spoke in a serious voice as he pulled out his blades "draw your weapons, if we see it.. it'll only be a second" Eren and I had are eyes glued looking at the rear... waiting. My eyes grew wide as a female titan emerged out of nowhere from the trees smashing a solider in the air; I held back a scream and look at levi. The titan made a grab for eren as auruo and the others shouted at levi for orders. Heart beating wildly my body shook. Squeezing my eyes shut I need to do something now or we're all going to die, even if levi's team is tough there's no telling what could happen. Petra's cries for levi's orders only got worse as she was nearly panicking. Levi who was quite finally spoke "hey everyone cover your ears"
